Changing the World of Poker One Hand at a Time

Over the past ten years the poker world has changed vastly. These changes are no more evident than in the world of charity poker. A few years ago you would find events everywhere. From the Star Studded Vegas Events to the small venues around the United States, the charities reaped the benefits of the generous poker community.  When I speak to some in the poker world they ask me; “any cool Charity events coming up”. I hate to say no, but its true.  in the mid 2000’s Las Vegas was a hotbed for these events. There was always one to be found almost every weekend. From your favorite Rock Star, Race Driver, Rodeo Champion and Movie Star, you could find a reasonable buy in event and mix it up. There was always a bounty of top named poker pros who showed up. This gave the regular Joe a chance to hit the felt with some of the best players in the world. I know the economy has been tough the last few years, but I truly hope Charity Poker makes a comeback.

The Asian Pacific Poker Tour returns for season four May 18-23, 2010 . I return to film all the action for Poker Media Asia. The APPT is a great week of poker with a ton of fast pace action. If you venture around the world to play poker the APPT Macao is definitely one stop you have to make.

Although many people will never leave the casino, the local culture and Portuguese heritage is evident in the cobble stoned meandering streets. A great place for a morning walk to soak in this little piece of Europe in Asia.

I will keep you updated on my travels and poker.
